The former Stoke City player John Ritchie has died at the age of 65 from complications arising from Alzheimer's disease. The Stoke city legend scored over a 170 goals for Stoke between 1962 and 1975. The big striker was a favourite of the fans and was in the side that won the League Cup in 1972. He scored 30 goals that season alone. A funeral service for John was held at Stoke Minster on 07 March 2007... Tributes have been pouring in to BBC Radio Stoke for the former City player.
