On bird watching trips, some members of the North Staffordshire RSPB community look forward to seeing each other more than they do the birds...

How excited do you get about the thought of seeing a lesser spotted woodpecker? Would the chance to see a belted kingfisher get you dropping everything and grabbing your binoculars? 

Or maybe, when it comes to birdwatchers, you just think 'what on earth is it with these people?'

Our reporter Mick Tucker went out with a group of them to find out what all the fuss was about, and found much than a couple of crested grebes…
