The Allure of Online Poker

By Matt Aguilera
You can sit alone at home in your pyjamas and win your way to big cash in the Bahamas! What’s the temptation of online poker again?!!

Online poker is becoming more mainstream than ever; you can't browse online without someone's blog proclaiming it to be the new “peoples” game and a teasing link at the top of the page enticing you naturally to sign up and get some free money.

Of course there's also the late night poker programmes that you might get intrigued by. We all have reservations at first so what makes someone take the plunge?

What is making everyone from job seeking pot o' gold chasers to Managing Directors of Blue Chip organisations sign up and become part of this online revolution? Is it the money, the competitive edge or quiet simply the opportunity to take part in some of the biggest tournaments in the world for little or no cost?

In the audio, you will hear the responses to these questions from two local people with rather different outlooks on life. One is a regular working class guy who plays poker online as a hobby and the other is a jobless guy who tries to make some sort of living from his online poker games. Reserve judgement and hear for yourself why people are really getting into this new craze.
