If you think canal building is a thing of the past in Staffordshire, you'll be surprised to hear about the work of the Lichfield and Hatherton Canal Restoration Trust.
Formed in 1988, the Trust has volunteers from across the county and further afield, working on the restoration of over 14 miles of canal. When completed, it will form the waterway equivalent of a northern relief road around Birmingham!
It's an ambitious, long-term project which is hoping to benefit anyone who uses or enjoys our canal network. The Trust will be updating BBC Staffordshire with films about their progress - which you'll be able to see on this page.
