Machine Knit Hat with Tassels

This pattern for a machine knit hat with tassels was very kindly sent in to us by Maureen. Although it's a new pattern it's fast becoming a favourite amongst you. Make your own by following the instructions below.

Using main yarn tension 0/0 Cast on 30 stitches on main bed and 30 stitches on ribber in full needle rib.

Knit 2 circular rows T3/3.

Keeping to circular knitting Change to tension 6/6 and knit 90 rows.

Cast off very loosely.

The cast off edge will gently roll.

Make 2 small tassels either in the main colour or a contrast colour and attach one to each corner of the cast on edge.

Notes

This little hat will fit a baby 3-5lb. Suitable for machines with ribber Knitted in 4 ply.
