Baby Blanket with Hood (HKP)

Lyn's baby blanket is lightweight, very versatile and has a cosy feel about it. Lyn knit hers in two strands of Double Knit Sirdar wool 1 White strand and 1 pale blue strand knit together. Using 8mm needles (old UK 0).

The finished garment weighed 265 grm (91/4 oz). The finished size of Lyns’ blanket was 66cm x 66cm (26" x 26") and the depth of the hood at the side seams 30.5cm (12").

Knit the square according to the wool you have available, and use needles to suit.

Can be knit with or without the hood.

Using 8mm ( 0 ) needles and two strands of DK wool.Cast on 3 stitches.

Increase rows

1st row:-- Knit2nd row:- Knit 1, make one ( yarn over needle) Knit to end.Repeat 2nd row until desired width of blanket is reached, it can be as small or as large as you wish.

Decrease rows

Next rowKnit 1 make one (yarn over needle) Knit 3 together, knit to endRepeat until last 3 stitches. If at this point you do not want a hood . Cast off.

Hood

Working on the 3 stitches Repeat row 2 until required size of hood is reached.

Cast off, sew down the two side seams of the hood.
