Presenter Den Siegertsz

Den Siegertsz

If your day includes the hours between 5-7am, then Den Siegertsz provides the perfect listen. He's certainly loud enough to provide your alarm call and Den's totally infectious brand of silliness always prompts a smile.

Early mornings can be fun. Even more so now that it's not just the undead that are around, but a whole bunch of insomniacs, truckers and the generally bewildered who religiously listen each and every morning from 5am.

Interesting Chats ?!?

During one of Den's semi interesting chats with travel presenter Adam Murray, the pair admitted they knew little or nothing of 60's pop icon Bob Dylan.Frank Leyland of Merseyside shocked at this travesty set about writing a song in Dylan stylee about the programme. Hear it here

The Science of Love

The Love Song

Den always inspires to bring a bit of happiness back in to our lives with a love song dedicated to that special someone. Click on the link below to send your greeting then listen out for your request around 6.45 each weekday morning

Texts, and Music

It's very much a programme which covets your participation - so long as it doesn't overshadow my popularity. Your texts and emails are very welcome. There are even times I've been known to read them out. Just try to make us all titter!

Den's fast facts

Born in Middleport

Started working life in a Potbank

Trained as an engineer

Has a C & G in Electronics and A levels in English

Loves Films, Theatre, Stoke City, Music (Beatles) Cheese, and his other half Andrea..not necessarily in that order!

All time hero ..Earl (from my name is Earl) & his son William

As well as the best in music there's a wry look at the news - the stranger the story the  better - plus comedy moments designed to make your realise how bad jokes never really die.

Charming!

If you need to be out and about we'll keep you posted with the latest travel news. But there's one regular feature which dominates the whole two hours - my relentless charm!

'Potternese'

As someone born and bred in Stoke I take pride in my ability to eat oatcakes, shout "OW DO" to people in Leek and the surrounding colonies, and talk in the native lingo of 'Potternese'.

So if you fancy something a little different to wake up to - and enjoy the chance to laugh at yourself, as well as me, then you've very much welcome to join me.

Den Siegertsz & plastic cow

If not, then stay in bed, or beat yourself into submission with large sticks until you develop a personality! The choice, as they say, is yours...

NB - you may have heard me called "Den Ceegars", "Denholm" (no!!!), Den Seegertz or "Seagerts" or Seagers or Ceegerts or Siegers - and more and more and more.... but, no, I am really....

Den Siegertsz!

Hi Den, Love the morning show. Thought you might appreciate this joke. One bloke says to the other, have you heard about the new Viagra, no he says. Its not a tablet now, its in powder form, you just put in your tea and give it a stir. What does it do? Answer: nothing for your manhood, but it stops your biscuits from going soft! Keep up the good work.

She is after all a fellow cat lover and you can't find too many women who can look up to you can you? Not unless you're standing in a trench that is. HA. HA. Are you having that one? Erm I think I had better go away and lie down in a darkened room til your influence wears off. Stop being so funny you bad lad you.

On the subject of sweets Den, l've googled a website that offers free retro sweets online. got all your favourites on there. flying saucers, foam bananas, pink shrimps. as for the aztec bar, could say l had one a week before they went out of circulation. lol Love the show. Did'nt hear much of you this morning, slept longer. Perhaps because I did a lot of work on Cannock Chase yesterday (with my new Litter Picking Trolley). I was looking through your collection of comments from listeners (me amongst them) and came across the one from a Ted Dixon who once lived in Newfoundland, very interesting. Whilst in the Royal Navy Submarine Service we payed a visit to Cornerbrook and must say that the hospitality we encountered there was of the Highest Order. But what I must say is that he said quote keep up the good work unquote and I entirely agree. My experience of Local Radio started in the North Americas and perhaps it made me expect too much from ours when it all started back in Nineteen Sixty Eight. Really, except for programmes similiar to yours, it has been a constant dissapointment to me. This is because I believe that most Presenters seem to be aiming for a job on the Today Programme and the least said about that is the better. I will say! also quote keep up the good work unquote and hope to be listening to you tomorrow

Paula Mason
Love waking up to your 'interesting' chats at silly o'clock every morning :)

Andy Hayward
hi den how are you well what can i say about your programe apart from the best way for north staffordshire and south cheshire to get their early morning wake up call the best 2hours of the day to set me up for the day.keep up the good work den

Fred Dixon
I’m a ‘newbie’ to your show… I’ve been listening for the past few months – moved to Stafford from the island of Newfoundland in Canada and work as the marketing manager at Talbott’s Biomass Energy in Stafford. I’m in the process of starting my day when you’re half way through your show – really enjoy listening to you. I used to be a morning ‘dj’ ( we don’t say presenter!) back when I was younger like you! Anyway – keep up the great show

Just William from Stone
Hi DenJust finished shopping and thought Id give you a call. Hear its the Chineese New Year and it brought to mind some old sayings. Like quote A woman with her skirt up can run faster than a man with trousers down unquote!. Also that Banter you engage in with the young lady is quite charming and its a credit to your programme. Its not often that people of my years have the privilage of hearing such an exchange. I am now on Hotmail and am using it to interface with the Old Submariners in Portsmouth and the Forrestry Commission on Cannock Chase, who I will soon be doing some voluntary work for. Well Den thanks for listening to me!, am now going to make my way Home. Regards and best wishes, Just William. PS will Tune in when I get there.

W A Spilsbury
Hi Den, Good listening to you this morning. Particulary regarding the Toilet Saga!. As I said an hinge made of Memory Metal would be a Good Idea. But you suggested that it wouldnt stay down, but if you had Slow Release Suction Pads that came in contact with the Bowl this problem would be solved and that part is the beautiful part of the idea!. You seem to be interested in the subject so you must make a dash to the Patent Office. I thought of it when I was cleaning in the year 2000 I did tell someone and realy dont know if there is a Patent!. I invent, I am really not interested in anything, other than that a problem has been solved!. What I really need is a Millionare who wants to become a Billionare and who will fund my MODEST lifestyle and give me credit for thinking of things
Regards and Best Wishes, Just William from Stone
