He took over as the training manager responsible for the training of the staff at the BBC Weather Centre and of broadcasting staff in the regions. David first started working for BBC South West in 2002 when he became a regular holiday relief presenter.
He recently married Spotlight reporter and presenter Julia Peet in a ceremony attended by many of the team at Ermington in Devon. David said: "It is a great challenge to work with Craig and the Spotlight team, I’ve watched and admired the programme over many years.
"I’ve always longed to return to the South West and my maritime roots. I’m looking forward to it immensely, both to joining the team but also to getting some decent sailing and surfing in!"
