What is the Big Splash and who's involved?

The BBC is working closely with the national governing body, British Swimming, to launch a new mass participation campaign called the Big Splash.

We want people to learn how to swim and to inspire more people to swim regularly. Throughout the year the BBC will highlight swimming as an important life-skill and gateway to a host of fun activities through a range of well known programmes across TV, radio and online.

British Swimming is working with local swimming pools to offer a range of activities and resources to help get the nation swimming.

Please note that all activities in the pool are not BBC events. The BBC has no association with the activities, pool operators and any related commercial partners of British Swimming. The BBC is not responsible for content on external sites.

The BBC is very excited to be working with British Swimming to help get the UK fitter, healthier and more active ahead of the 2012 Olympics.
