Wigan star Martin and Lee Smith join daq
Martin Gleeson and Lee Smith join the 'daq this week after finishing in the top two in this week's Traders' Choice vote.
In a very close vote Gleeson came out on top and won with 20 per cent of the total vote even though his new team Wigan will not play in the Super League final after losing to St Helens in the semi-final.
Lee Smith of the Leeds Rhinos just earned the right to join Gleeson as a þdaq-listed player after narrowly beating Sam Tomkins by just three in the vote.
Smith should feature for Leeds in Saturday's Grand Final.It should be his last game for the Rhinos as he is about to switch codes to join London Wasps.
Tomkins' time on the daq should come soon enough though as he was voted Young Player of the Year award at the recent Man of Steel awards.
Finally, we say goodbye to two stars from each rugby code.
Former Scottish Union coach Frank Hadden and League star Kevin Penny leave the þdaq this week. Shares in Hadden and Penny will be removed at 12:00 BST on Thursday 8th October.
