BBC Sport - Sochi 2014: Elise Christie wins short track 1,000m heat

Dominant Christie back on track

Great Britain's Elise Christie is through to the quarter-finals of the 1,000m short track speed skating after comfortably winning her heat.

The 23-year-old Scot has suffered two disappointments at the 2014 Winter Olympics, first receiving a penalty for causing a crash in the 500m final, before being disqualified in her 1500m heat for not crossing the official finish line.

Christie's favoured event is the 1,000m, and her easy victory means she progresses to the quarter-finals on Friday.
