Cavendish on 2011 Sports Personality win

Cyclist Mark Cavendish recalls his surprise at being named the 2011 Sports Personality of the Year.

The 2011 world road race champion and Tour de France green jersey winner became only the third cyclist in history to win the award, following in the footsteps of Tommy Simpson in 1965 and Sir Chris Hoy in 2008.

This year's event takes place at London's ExCel on Sunday, 16 December and Cavendish admits it will be difficult to select a winner following "an incredible year" for British sport.
