Scottish weightlifters Sophie Smyth and Craig Carfray discuss their performances at the Commonwealth Games trials held by Weightlifting Scotland in Glasgow on Saturday 19 April.

The Kilmarnock Weightlifting Club duo matched the Games standard, with Carfray breaking the Scottish record for the clean and jerk in the 69kg bodyweight category with a lift of 144kg. While Smyth, 21, has met selection criteria by matching the Games standard at two separate events, 22-year-old Carfray must match his tally of 255kg combined for the snatch and clean and jerk at the British Seniors event in Coventry in May to make his place in the Scotland team a certainty.
