Smith is part of my vision - Lancaster
- From the section Rugby Union
Head coach Stuart Lancaster says he wants former All Blacks assistant coach Wayne Smith to be part of England's "vision for the future", and expects the New Zealander to make a decision next week on whether he wants to replace Andy Farrell as backs coach.
Smith, who recently met with Lancaster in South Africa, is a coach at New Zealand Super 15 side Waikato Chiefs, where he is understood to have an exit clause in his contract that could allow him to begin working at Twickenham after the Super Rugby season ends in August.
If Smith were to accept the job, Lancaster says he will find an interim coach to fulfil the position in the meantime, with Mike Catt rumoured to be favourite for the role.
