Lancaster hails 'new era' for England

Interim England head coach Stuart Lancaster believes the squad he has announced for the Six Nations is the start of a new era for English rugby.

The former Saxons coach enthuses about the job done in the past by players like Jonny Wilkinson, but is excited about some of the youngsters in the squad, and he says that Saracens back Owen Farrell is one he believes can handle the step up.

Lancaster adds that some of the omissions were difficult choices, naming Nick Easter as one of those he respects and says the door for future inclusion is not closed.
