BBC Sport - Kevin Sinfield: Leeds & England captain retires from internationals

Retirement a horrible thought - Sinfield

Leeds Rhinos and England captain Kevin Sinfield says his decision to retire from international rugby league was a "horrible thought".

The 33-year-old played 26 times for England and was skipper at the 2013 World Cup, his last appearance being the semi-final defeat by New Zealand.

Sinfield says he believes he can still perform at the highest level but wishes to prolong his domestic career.
