Wakefield Trinity Wildcats: Paul Sykes faces eight-week lay-off

Paul Sykes

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats stand-off Paul Sykes has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

The 31-year-old picked up the injury in the win at Widnes and missed last week's success over Catalan Dragons.

Coach Richard Agar told BBC Radio Leeds: "It's a blow because he's been very good for us and he plays in a pivotal position.

"You never want to lose anyone for this length of time, but it gives an opportunity to Kyle Wood."
