Ryan Hoffman to exit Wigan Warriors for Melbourne Storm
Wigan Warriors back row forward Ryan Hoffman has confirmed he will return to Melbourne Storm at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old joined the Warriors on a 12-month contract last September and has played in all 24 matches this year.
Hoffman left Melbourne in the wake of the salary-cap scandal that rocked the club in 2010.
He said: "My immediate focus is with Wigan and finishing what we have begun in the Challenge Cup and Super League."
Hoffman will return to the club where he began his career to fill a gap created by the departure of New Zealand international forward Adam Blair, who is joining Wests Tigers next season.
"I'm really excited the opportunity has presented itself for me to re-join Storm, having started my career there and sharing so many wonderful memories and friendships," Hoffman said.
"This year with Wigan has been outstanding. The club and fans have been great and they have made me and my wife Mel very welcome.
"However, when I left Storm the hardest part of the decision was leaving the only professional rugby league club I have ever played for.
"But 'Blairy' moving on has created an opportunity for me to return to where it started.
"I have a burning desire to be a ten-year Storm player, joining Matt Geyer, Cameron Smith and by next year Billy Slater in the 200 games club."
