Derval O'Rourke through to hurdles semis in London

Derval O'Rourke (centre) clears a hurdle in Monday's heats

Derval O'Rourke has progressed to the 100m hurdles semi-finals in London after qualifying as the fastest loser from the heats on Monday.

The Cork woman, who finished fourth in her heat is a season best 12.91, did enough to make Tuesday's semis.

"I needed to get off to a really good start, although I lost it a little bit in the middle of the race," she said.

"It's really exciting being Irish - it feels like a home Olympics as the Brits are really supportive of us."
