South Korea's Hwang Kyung-Seon defended her Olympic women's -67kg title with victory over European champion Nur Tatar of Turkey.

Hwang won 12-5 to earn her country's 13th gold medal of London 2012 - equalling their record tally won in Beijing four years ago.

USA's Paige McPherson and Germany's Helena Fromm won the two bronze medals, having both come through the repechage.

Great Britain's Sarah Stevenson lost to McPherson in the opening round.

Hwang had vowed to win gold after losing to Stevenson in the semi-finals of the world championships in South Korea last year.

Having won a bronze in Athens eight years ago and gold in Beijing four years later, the 26-year-old became the first woman to win taekwondo medals in three successive Olympics.
