Davenport's determined swim as the anchor in the 4x200m freestyle at the 2006 Commonwealth Games helped England secure gold in Melbourne.

The Derby native also claimed gold at the same competition in the individual 200m butterfly.

Career other

He was a finalist in the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle at the Beijing Olympics, and 4x200m freestyle at the Athens Olympics. On each occasion, he was part of a team that finished outside the medal positions.
