Robertson set to retire

Nathan Robertson reveals he will "happily head into retirement" after he and mixed doubles partner Jenny Wallwork suffered defeat to fellow British pair Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier in the European Championship quarter-finals.

The result leaves Robertson's fate in the hands of Olympic selectors, but the Nottingham-born player believes he and Wallwork are "too far behind" their rivals and expects performance directors to "pick the other pair".

Robertson and former mixed doubles partner Gail Emms became the first Britons ever to reach an Olympic badminton final in 2004 but were defeated in the second round at Beijing 2008.
