England's women's hockey team beat Scotland 2-1 to claim their place in the final of the London Cup.

Alex Danson and Ellie Watton scored for England before Nikki Kidd pulled one back at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in the Olympic Park.

England will face South Africa, who beat Wales 8-2, in Sunday's final.

Captain Kate Richardson-Walsh said: "We're feeling good, we're fit, and there's a buzz and positive energy throughout the squad."

England have already beaten South Africa 2-1 in the round robin stages of the tournament.

South Africa warmed up for the final with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Wales, who are yet to win in the competition.

They raced into a 6-0 lead before Wales scored with Emma Batten deflecting in from a penalty corner.

Eloise Laity claimed Wales' second goal but that was after Tarryn Bright had scored her second of the game to net South Africa's eighth.
