BBC Sport - US Open 2014: Justin Rose on defending title

Rose won't be distracted by England

US Open champion Justin Rose says he will not let England's opening World Cup fixture against Italy distract him from winning another major championship.

Last year at Merion, Pennsylvania, Rose won his maiden major title and became the first Englishman for 43 years to win the US Open.

Rose is bidding to become the first man since Curtis Strange in 1989 to successfully defend the title when this year's event starts at Pinehurst on Thursday.
