McIlroy frustrated with Masters start

Rory McIlroy says he needs to cut out mistakes if he is to mount a serious challenge for the US Masters.

The world number two from Northern Ireland carded a level-par 72 in Thursday's first round - leaving him six shots behind leaders Marc Leishman of Australia and Spain's Sergio Garcia.

"I made some silly mistakes, a couple of three-putts on the back nine," said McIlroy. "But I feel the game is there and I hit the ball really well."
