Hamilton explains cause of crash

Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton says a rear brake failure caused him to crash during his first testing session for his new team in Jerez.

Cameras at the circuit did not capture the crash, from which Hamilton walked away unhurt. The British driver ploughed across a gravel trap into a tyre wall 15 laps into the session following a braking problem.

The 2008 world champion says it was a "pretty heavy" impact, but is glad it has happened now in testing, rather than during the season.
