Fernando Alonso spins out of Japanese Grand Prix
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso spins out on the first corner of Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix, handing the initiative in the championship to race winner Sebastian Vettel.
The Spaniard suffered a puncture when he was hit from behind by Lotus's Kimi Raikkonen, and with Vettel comfortably winning the race Alonso's lead at the top of the drivers' standings is now just four points.
Alonso admits it was "a shame" to retire from Suzuka, but is determined to turn his fortunes around in the final five races.
