Hamilton delighted with 'best ever' pole

Lewis Hamilton declares himself pleased after a "fantastic" qualifying session for the Spanish Grand Prix sees him claim pole position at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Pastor Maldonado, who will start second, is delighted to be on front row for the first time in his F1 career and says all the hard work by the Williams team is starting to now pay off.

Third on the grid at his home race will be Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, who feels he has perhaps over-performed to be so high up the grid after completing a "perfect lap".

Recorded before Hamilton was stripped of pole position after stopping his car out on the track at the end of qualifying.
