Bury 2-1 Accrington Stanley

Bury held on to beat Accrington Stanley with 10 men following captain Jim McNulty's red card.

Kal Naismith, the subject of recent interest from the Shakers, curled Accrington's opener in off the post and saw later efforts cleared off the line and hit the woodwork.

Ryan Lowe and Kelvin Etuhu linked up to create Danny Rose's leveller for Bury.

Danny Mayor's wonderful curling shot secured victory before McNulty was dismissed for two bookable offences.

Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:

Flitcroft on Bury v Accrington

"We showed great resolve, great application and great attitude to dig in for the three points. You can see what it means to the players to win football matches.

"The goal [from Danny Mayor] - wow. It's good enough to grace any game that you'll see."

Accrington manager James Beattie told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"There was some tremendous performances from the lads and everything went to plan.

"We did our homework on Bury, we had a plan and the lads stuck to it magnificently. They matched us up and it threw us a little bit.

"They've had four shots and scored two goals. You get what you pay for, and that's why strikers are the most valuable players in football."
