World Cup 2014: The race for the Golden Boot

BBC Sports looks at the players in contention to win the Golden Boot award for finishing top scorer at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Colombia's James Rodriguez leads the way having scored six goals in five matches, but his side's exit at the hands of hosts Brazil means he will not get the chance to add to his tally.

Germany forward Thomas Muller, who won the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup, has so far netted five goals at this tournament, with Argentina's Lionel Messi on four.

Watch live coverage of Germany v Argentina in the 2014 World Cup final, Sunday 13 July, 19:00 BST on BBC One, BBC One HD and the BBC Sport website.
