Ipswich Town forward Daryl Murphy has signed a new two-year deal, keeping him at Portman Road until 2016.

The 31-year-old scored 13 times last term, his highest tally for a season to date, and helped to ease the loss of injured striker David McGoldrick.

He had a year left to run on his deal after joining permanently last summer.

"I'm really enjoying my football here so I'm obviously delighted to have signed a new contract," he told the club website.

"I've said before, Ipswich Town feels like home for me - both on and off the pitch. My family love the area and that's very important to me.

"We are making progress as a football club and the challenge now is to continue that next season and hopefully get into that top six. That's the target."
