BBC Sport - World Cup 2014: Cameroon's Benoit Assou-Ekotto explains France stance

Assou-Ekotto on France decision

Cameroon defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto says he chose not to play for France as they blame black and Muslim players when they lose.

The French-born left-back, who qualifies for Cameroon through his father, played for Les Bleus at youth level but said that there is "no point" in him playing for France.

Cameroon, who opened their Group A campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Mexico, face Croatia on Wednesday.
