Hereford United 0-1 Gateshead
James Marwood's first-half goal clinched victory for Gateshead over Hereford and kept them on course for the Conference Premier play-offs.
Hereford's Michael Rankine and Luke Graham both went close to putting the home side ahead but could not finish.
Marwood gave the visitors the lead with his 13th of the season when he slid the ball home from inside the box.
Billy Murphy almost rescued a point for the Bulls after the break but he was denied by keeper Adam Bartlett.
Hereford slip down a place into the relegation places following the result, whereas Gateshead stay fourth.
Gateshead manager Gary Mills told BBC Newcastle:
"I absolutely love a 1-0 win away from home, I think it's the best result you can have.
"I thought we were excellent. When we needed to defend, we did it superbly. Our goalkeeper Adam Bartlett pulled off some unbelievable saves to help us keep a clean sheet.
"I am delighted for my players because although we've picked up the results, we haven't played how we know we can, but we were back to it today and superb from start to finish.
"We have just got to keep winning. We have given ourselves a chance because we've won six out of seven and taken 19 points from 21."
