Portsmouth 1-0 Hartlepool United
Portsmouth eased their relegation fears with a narrow victory over Hartlepool.
A second-minute goal from right-back Adam Webster was enough for victory as he tapped into an unguarded net.
Webster latched onto a loose ball after Pools keeper Andy Rafferty had saved Ryan Taylor's header from a free-kick.
Pompey could have extended their lead a minute later but Rafferty saved Taylor's penalty after Wes Fogden was tripped by Christian Burgess and Ricky Holmes fired over the rebound.
Danny Hollands almost gave Portsmouth a 2-0 lead before the break but his strike was deflected for a corner after an impressive solo run.
Luke James forced Trevor Carson into a save after the break, with the Pompey keeper getting down well to deny Hartlepool's leading goalscorer.
Portsmouth remain five points clear of the League Two drop zone, while Hartlepool are now six points ahead of the bottom two.
Portsmouth caretaker manager Andy Awford told BBC Radio Solent:
"We're delighted with the three points obviously. It's big for us to get back-to-back victories; we haven't done that for a long time here.
"The boys were terrific and the fans played their part as well. I asked for it and I got it and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
"That was everything that I wanted and the fans have played their part today and also they've made it very difficult for Hartlepool. I asked it to be unbearable for them and the first 10 minutes it was.
"I think a lot of Adam Webster. He's been on loan at Aldershot and I just felt it was the right person to play in that position today."
