Portsmouth 0-1 York City
York moved into the play-off places with a win over struggling Portsmouth.
The away side were ahead early on when Michael Coulson lashed a sensational low volley past keeper Trevor Carson.
Portsmouth tried to get back level but neither Ryan Taylor's header nor Jed Wallace's drive could beat Nick Pope in goal.
The home side's chances faded when captain Ben Chorley was sent off five minutes into the second half for a high challenge on Wes Fletcher.
Portsmouth manager Richie Barker told BBC Radio Solent:
"I thought after the goal, which was disappointing, we were probably the best team for the next 80 minutes, including for most of the time when we were down to 10 men.
"I've spoken to Ben (Chorley). He said that he genuinely went for the ball and he didn't mean to hurt the lad.
"I thought the longer it went on the ref wasn't going to give the red card, but obviously he did in the end, which was a big blow for us.
"We tried to play in a different way. We went with a different shape and a different view of the game and I thought for most of the game it worked."
York City manager Nigel Worthington told BBC Radio York:
"I'm delighted with the result. It's a club that's got a great footballing history - you can see from the number of supporters they had.
"But the lads were outstanding. The one thing we had to do in the second half was really make sure we stayed focused and concentrated to see the job through.
"To be fair we've done it in good style, we've limited Portsmouth. I'm not sure they had a clear effort on goal."
