Braintree Town 0-1 Macclesfield Town

Braintree's play-off hopes suffered a set-back after they were beaten at home by Macclesfield Town.

The hosts almost took the lead just before the break but James Mulley volleyed wide from close range.

The deadlock was broken on 62 minutes when Scott Boden finished from inside the box after some good work by midfielder Paul Turnbull.

Danny Whitaker came close to doubling Macc's lead but was denied by a fine stop from keeper Nick Hamann.

The result means Braintree are two points off the play-off places with five games remaining.
