Peterhead 3-1 Annan Athletic

Peterhead opened up an eight-point lead at the top of League Two with victory over second-placed Annan.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the eighth minute when Ryan Strachan rifled in his first goal of the season.

The Blue Toon doubled their advantage when Rory McAllister lifted the ball over keeper Kenny Arthur from 25 yards.

The visitors were handed a lifeline as Peterhead defender Scott Ross nodded the ball into his own net but Steven Noble fired home on 50 minutes.

Annan's Kenneth Mackay came close to pulling one back when he hit a post three minutes from the end but the leaders held on to their two-goal cushion.
