Oldham Athletic 1-1 Bristol City

Bristol City fought back to earn a point against Oldham in a League One match affected by gale-force winds.

The hosts went ahead after five minutes when Danny Philliskirk fired into the top corner from 25 yards out.

Aden Flint hooked in the leveller soon afterwards when the Latics failed to clear Bobby Reid's corner.

Marvin Elliott was stretchered off for the visitors, who went close through Reid and Wes Burns, while Jon Stead saw his free kick whistle wide for Oldham.

Post-match: Oldham manager Lee Johnson

"I thought it was a tough game in tough conditions. It was very cold and windy.

"Obviously we tried, we huffed and puffed. It was a great strike from Danny Philliskirk and then we didn't really affect their goalmouth enough.

"We couldn't really get going but I have to be fair to the lads - it was a tough set of circumstances today.

"It's not a bad point. It wasn't a great performance but they're not a bad side. I would just like a little bit more in terms of bit of movement and a bit of quality."

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol:

Post-match: Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill

"It was a hard-fought game. We've gone a goal behind again - it would have been nice if we'd got our noses in front and then seen what happened.

"If we beat Coventry the other night, in a game when we'd done enough to win for sure, and then we come away and we draw at Oldham, it's the end of a very good week for us.

"Because we are chasing wins at the moment, you look at a draw and think perhaps we should have won or we needed to win.

"We do have to bear in mind where the club has been heading for the last few years and it does take time to turn round."
