Fleetwood Town 3-1 Accrington Stanley

Fleetwood moved back into the League Two play-off places with a convincing win against strugglers Accrington.

Jon Parkin fired the hosts ahead early and David Ball made it 2-0 after the break, slotting home on the back post after good work from Antoni Sarcevic.

Kayode Odejayi then gave the visitors late hope with his header from a Josh Windass free-kick.

But Daniel Carr netted his first goal for the club six minutes into injury time to secure maximum points for Town.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"We wanted to get back on track after the previous two league games and we did that well today.

"We played the game we wanted to play and we looked really solid, which was important.

"We looked a good threat at the other end and to get all three strikers scoring is fantastic because they've had a tough time of late."

Accrington manager James Beattie told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"We keep giving teams starts in games and we gave Fleetwood a two-goal start. It was 65 minutes before we started playing.

"The conditions were horrendous and they played the conditions better than we did.

"Jon Parkin adds quality and his goal was first-class. He was maybe the difference between the two sides."
