Mansfield Town 0-0 Burton Albion
Burton extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches with a goalless draw in wet and blustery conditions at Mansfield.
Billy Kee tested Stags keeper Alan Marriott with an angled effort and Phil Edwards had a shot deflected wide before the break.
Ollie Palmer flashed Mansfield's best chance across the face of goal midway through the second half.
Burton's Chris Hussey then hit the post with a header and Shane Cansdell-Sheriff nodded wastefully over the bar.
While Albion failed to capitalise on their dominance against the struggling Stags, they remain second in League Two, just two points behind Scunthorpe after their 3-0 win against Rochdale.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Mansfield Town coach Micky Moore told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"We haven't created enough chances or enough opportunities to score - that's something we do need to work on.
"I don't think Burton had any clear-cut chances. I can't remember either goalkeeper making a save of any note.
"But it's a building block, it's a clean sheet."
Burton manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:
"Away from home, you've always got to think of it as a point gained.
"We were also coming here just after Mansfield ended their losing run, so that made them a little more buoyant.
"The conditions were horrific so it was a case of could we navigate it well enough to show our quality.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't get that little bit of quality or that last decent cross and we've hit the post and had one or two really good chances.
"We just couldn't quite show enough quality to win the game."
