Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel will face no further action despite appearing to slap Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini in the face during the 2-2 draw on Sunday.

None of the match officials saw the incident, so it went before the FA's new 'not seen' panel, who can punish players retrospectively.

But the panel felt no further action was necessary.

Wayne Rooney was shown a yellow card for his foul on Jordon Mutch.

But because the incident was dealt with by officials the England and Manchester and United striker cannot be punished retrospectively.

Retrospective action can only be taken for offences considered by the panel to have warranted a red card.
