Scunthorpe have taken up the option of an additional year on goalkeeper Sam Slocombe's contract.

The 25-year-old, who signed a two-year deal in May 2012, is now tied to the League Two side until the end of the 2014-15 season.

Slocombe has made 75 league appearances for the Iron and has been ever-present so far this campaign.

"He's had a great start to the season and it was a no-brainer to take it up," boss Brian Laws told the club website.
