Being an Asian footballer is 'difficult'

Northampton Town defender Kashif Siddiqi talks to BBC Sport about the challenges he faces being Asian in the Football League.

The Pakistan international, 27, signed for Northampton in September after completing a trial with the club last season.

Siddiqi, who was born in London, admits it is "difficult" being an Asian footballer as there are a "lack of opportunities" for his community in the sport.

Kashif Siddiqi has been shortlisted for the Inspiration award at the Asian Football Awards, which take place on Tuesday, 8 October at Wembley Stadium.
