Danny Ings: Burnley striker must enjoy playing, says Sean Dyche
Burnley manager Sean Dyche wants striker Danny Ings to continue enjoying his football after an impressive start to the season.
The 21-year-old has carried on his form from pre-season, where he scored in four consecutive games, by netting in the Clarets' first three matches.
"He puts a lot of pressure on himself," Dyche told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I said to him you've got to release that pressure and enjoy yourself as it's an important part of football."
Ings moved to Turf Moor from Bournemouth in 2011 for a fee of around £1m but has struggled to hold down a first-team place as he returned to full fitness.
"He's got the best challenge in the world. I tell him all the time the best management in the world I could ever give him is play with a smile, train with a smile," Dyche added.
"People forget it is a business and it's a tough business, but you've got to find that love for yourself. At times he hurts himself so hard because he wants to do so well.
"You've got to free that up, relax and enjoy your football and he's certainly doing that."
