Reading: Nigel Adkins keen to go back up as champions

Reading manager Nigel Adkins wants his relegated side to bounce back and win the Championship title this season.

The Royals won the division when gaining promotion to the Premier League in the 2011-12 season.

"We know what we want to achieve, we want to get back in the Premier League and we want to win the division," Adkins told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"Now what we need to do is navigate our way through what's going to be a very challenging and exciting 10 months."

But Adkins, who has gained four promotions in his managerial career since taking charge of Scunthorpe in November 2006, wants to achieve his goals by playing attractive football.

"We want to play winning football but also football for the supporters that pay hard-earned cash to come down and watch us," he explained.

"I want to be a winning manager and I want to be successful. We're very very ambitious.

"There's lot of positivity about the place and we need to win."
