Oldham 2-1 Crawley Town

Oldham ensured their League One safety with a last-ditch win against Crawley, whose play-off hopes are now over.

Matt Smith gave Oldham the lead as he bundled through the heart of Crawley's defence and hit a 20-yard drive into the bottom corner of the net.

The visitors equalised when a short corner routine ended with Mark Connolly heading in from point-blank range.

Oldham snatched victory in injury time after Jean Yves Mvoto headed home at the back post from three yards out.

Crawley let standards drop - Barker

"We deserved to get more out of the game but we weren't at our best. If we were at our best you would have thought we would have won.

"We made positive substitutions and changed the formation and we were on the ascendancy for a little bit. At times we looked good but that is not good enough.

"With two games to go we need to make sure we don't end up with nothing. These players worked extremely hard but, if we are going to have aspirations for next year, we have got to have high demands."
