Portsmouth caretaker manager Guy Whittingham told BBC Radio Solent:
"It couldn't have gone any better. We knew their strengths and weaknesses, we knew that on turnover we could get at them quick and our three goals came from that.
"It was fantastic preparation for the game and it's great when it pays off because the fans needed that today. It was a euphoric day and that's just put the icing on the cake [after the takeover by the Supporters' Trust].
"I think we all wish that February was the start of the season - unfortunately it isn't. We know there's a lot of hard work to do and we're prepared."
Sheffield United caretaker manager Chris Morgan told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"The first-half performance is difficult to take in particular. It was a performance a million miles away from what we've been at and we need to have a look at that.
"What we have got is a good group of players. We've got two games left.
"We have to finish the season positively and get mentally ready for the play-offs."
