Lambert hails Lowton strike

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says Matthew Lowton's goal against Stoke was as good as any scored elsewhere in Europe.

Lowton's spectacular volley put Villa back into the lead after Gabriel Agbonlahor had given them the advantage early on, only for Michael Kightly to grab a Stoke equaliser. Christian Benteke scored Villa's third to make it three wins in four matches for the West Midlanders.

The win lifts Lambert's side out of the relegation places while Stoke remain just four points clear of the drop zone.
