Crues and Reds called off after protest

The Irish Premiership football match between Crusaders and Cliftonville is called off because of a loyalist protest outside the Seaview ground in North Belfast.

Police said they were attacked with bottles and other missiles after they began moving protesters at Seaview. Three arrests were made.

Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter and his Cliftonville counterpart Tommy Breslin both expressed disappointment at the turn of events.

"Both chairman have been working tirelessly behind the scenes and I wasn't even aware of this until Thursday evening that there might be a small problem," said Crusaders manager Baxter.
