Bale backs Spurs to finish strongly

Tottenham's Gareth Bale believes his side have the confidence to produce a strong finish to the season, after scoring twice to help Spurs beat Newcastle 2-1 in the Premier League.

After Bale's free-kick had put Spurs ahead with five minutes gone, Yoan Gouffran equalised for Newcastle, but the Welsh winger pounced to fire home the winner with just over ten minutes of the match remaining.

Bale admits that in recent seasons Tottenham have "gone off the boil" during the run-in, but thinks the team have "learned from their mistakes".
